Eligibility is based on the age and income, must be 62 or above.  Your rent is based on your income.  You pay 30% of your adjusted gross as rent.  The remaining amount, to meet what the real amount is, is paid in a subsidy by HUD.


For example:  A person’s income is $600, 30% of this is $180, and this is the rent that he/she would pay approximately each month.
